Since being at Penn State Dalton has had multiple opportunities to develop his human resource skillset in unique settings. One such setting was in a course titled “Human Resources in Technology” where he had the opportunity to learn about the different ways tech companies utilize their human resources employees. This course culminated in a trip to Silicon Valley in which the class had the chance to visit numerous tech companies like Google, Facebook, Uber and more. During this trip they had the chance to ask questions and learn hands on what human resources was like in these tech companies that continue rapid development.

This past summer Dalton had the chance to operate as a People Strategy & Development Intern for Bechtel Corporation, a leading engineering, procurement, and construction firm. In this role he had the chance to apply what he learned in the classroom to aid with the implementation of a new talent management program that is hoping to bring life to an aging performance appraisal system. He also had the chance to help in the beginning stages of the creation of a brand new leadership development system that is aiming to be implemented company wide once completed.

Outside of human resources Dalton currently functions as the president Penn State’s chapter of the Kappa Sigma fraternity. Here he has developed deeper leadership skills as well as a passion for philanthropy where he helped found an annual color run created to benefit the Military Heroes Campaign. Besides this Dalton is an avid Philadelphia sports fan, and is always looking to create new relationships.
