Position Summary Works with Associate Director of Compensation to manage all non-faculty compensation programs. Responsible for salary grades and ranges, annual merit increases and enhancing the pay-for-performance philosophy. Directly responsible for analyzing and classifying positions, including determining exemption status and pay grade. Advises departments and within Human Resources on compensation related matters, particularly around competitive offers, market based pay issues, internal equity and pay for performance. Assists supervisors and Recruiters with job description creation and modification and advises departments on organization structure or staffing model issues, as requested.

Position Activities Counsels managers and supervisors on non-academic compensation policies, job evaluation, salary administration and performance management.

Assists with the annual non-academic performance appraisal and merit increase process, advises management staff on merit increase recommendations, reviews annual merit increases for compliance with guidelines and assists with ensuring timely completion of the program.

Participates in industry & regional salary surveys to analyze survey data and ensure competitive pay practices.

Analyzes and evaluates job descriptions to establish grade and to ensure equitable compensation within organization as well as competitive position within the market; assigns exemption status in compliance with Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) guidelines. Reviews and approves salary increases, analyzes salary information to ensure that transaction is processed correctly and within policy and works closely with Payroll and departments to resolve problems.

Prepares a variety of analytical reports to support decision-making and to assess compensation program results; recommends course of action based on analysis. Participates in, or leads Compensation and Total Rewards related projects around career ladders, incentive pay programs, equity and market studies, and others as requested.

Minimum Requirements Bachelor's degree in business, human resources, statistics or a related field. Minimum of five years of professional level experience in compensation. Highly Desired Requirements Certified Compensation Professional (CCP) certification; previous experience working in Health Care or Higher Education. Skill and Abilities Excellent analytical abilities with complex data sets, such as salary information. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to interact with all levels within the organization. Advanced working knowledge of excel. Strong technical compensation aptitude, utilizing the latest compensation philosophies, techniques and skills. Ability to create meaningful presentations and reports utilizing a variety of raw data.
