Description

HR Shared Services seeks an HR Specialist/Technical Service Recruiter to manage job vacancies for technical service positions, including posting positions in the job vacancy system, and identifying potential candidates via a variety of strategies including external advertising, networking, conducting queries within resume databases, direct sourcing, research, internet recruiting, and job fairs. The position is responsible for pre-screening applicant pools for minimum qualifications, administering and grading technical service tests, providing salary analysis, conducting background checks, drafting offer letters, and closing positions once filled. The HR Specialist will also provide guidance to hiring managers and HR professionals on recruitment policies, procedures, and best practices; investigate, analyze, and resolve recruitment-related issues; ensure compliance with the Collective Bargaining Agreement, University policy, and applicable State and Federal laws; and investigate and resolve routine to intermediate inquiries, coordinating with respective departments and referring complex situations to appropriate contact. The position will collaborate with Talent Acquisition team members to evaluate and streamline processes and develop innovative recruitment strategies to create diverse high-quality candidate pools based on current and future University needs; and develop training, communications, and presentations. Typically requires a Bachelor's degree or higher plus two years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong oral and written communication skills; accuracy and attention to detail; strong customer service skills; a high degree of professionalism and confidentiality; the ability to work effectively as an individual contributor and as part of a team; and a strong commitment to fostering diversity and equal opportunity. The ability to develop positive relationships with peers, hiring managers, and prospective applicants is essential. This is a fixed-term appointment funded for one year from date of hire with excellent possibility of re-funding.
