Penn State Human Resources is currently implementing an exciting HR Transformation including the establishment of a new shared services center that will be located in Innovation Park beginning in Summer 2017. We are seeking Human Resources Associates to provide outstanding support to the HR Data and Onboarding team. Responsibilities may include providing reception in the New Employee Welcome Center, greeting visitors and providing a positive and welcoming experience to new employees joining the Penn State community; administering employee onboarding activities; collecting, coordinating, and processing appropriate employment documentation; assisting new employees with the completion of employment and human resources forms (e.g. I-9, W-4, etc.) in accordance with Federal/State laws and University policies; processing human resources and payroll forms, ensuring timely processing in accordance with payroll deadlines; running database queries and generating various reports; and other duties as assigned. The successful candidate must demonstrate accuracy and attention to detail, professionalism, the ability to work independently, as well as part of a team; and a high degree of sensitivity in handling confidential information. The successful candidate will also possess strong customer service and communication skills, both oral and written; the ability to effectively learn and utilize new technologies; and the ability to prioritize and multi-task. This job will be filled as a level 2, or level 3, depending upon the successful candidate's competencies, education, and experience. Typically requires a High School diploma or higher plus one year of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience for a level 2. Additional experience and/or education and competencies are required for higher level jobs. This is a fixed-term appointment funded for one year from date of hire with excellent possibility of re-funding.
