YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

 

The primary responsibilities of this role, HR Business Partner IT, are to: 

 

  • Demonstrate the ability to translate business strategy and objectives into impactful HR strategic objectives for the customer area;
  • Support the senior management of the IT area in understanding the US HR Roadmap;
  • Provide expertise in Change Management in partnership with leadership of the different functions of Bayer Corporation;
  • Provide thought leadership and guidance to managers on all organizational design and organization development matters (e.g. reorganizations, building organization capability, strategic workforce planning, etc.);
  • Coach and advise the managers of the IT area on the effectiveness of their leadership teams, various strategic business matters, talent topics and general HR issues;
  • Help executives align manager and employee capabilities to the mid-to-long-term business needs;
  • Ensure clear understanding of the proper and ideal use of expatriate assignments;
  • Ensure the implementation and application of agreed upon Bayer HR directives, policies, processes, systems and programs throughout the IT area and strives for best practices in the standardization, harmonization and alignment of local HR activities, always with the business requirements in mind;
  • Support open & transparent dialogue within the HR function in terms of One HR and foster the overall HR Missions and HR Roadmap (global & country);
  • Provide data driven solutions and predictive analytics to offer insights to inform and drive better business decisions, including Workforce Management for the IT area;
  • Manage labor law/litigation in close collaboration with the  Legal team to ensure compliance and adherence to applicable laws and Bayer rules;
  • Counsel and support business managers in the resolution of specific individual local HR issues;
  • Facilitate and support personnel organization conferences (POC) for the respective departments in talent management and succession planning for the IT area;
  • Recruit and ensure/enable the development high potential candidates for key positions;
  • Consult and partner with senior leadership team on best approach to develop team (i.e. 360, development programs, development centers, etc.);
  • Ensure support and guidance of line managers to build and maintain a powerful talent “pipeline” for the customer areas by means of professional application of Bayer group instruments; help line management to process performance management procedures and to link individual performances to business and leadership objectives;
  • Anticipate the business needs in terms of talents and competency upgrades, both quantitatively and qualitatively, align the competency portfolio with the business requirements;
  • Foster the effective implementation of the Bayer LIFE Values.
  • Partner with business leaders to ensure the implementation of the Diversity Strategy;
  • Contribute to HR marketing/employer branding thus ensuring that Bayer will be an employer of choice in the US;
  • Provide support on compensation issues to middle and senior management;
  • Provide input and support for PMP (Performance Management Process), Merit Increase & STI (Short Term Incentive);
  • Evaluate and analyze market data and comparator groups to ensure competitive salary offers for new hires, promotions, etc;
  • Monitor internal equity and market competitiveness and make recommendations in partnership with Compensation local expertise to remain appropriately competitive. Recommend and employ retention strategies as needed.

Required Qualifications:

 

  • BA/BS degree, especially with the main focus on Human Resources;
  • Ten plus years of experience in HR positions;
  • Five plus years of experience as a HR Business Partner, including experience with HR/Business Strategy, Operational Excellence, Organization Design and Compensation and Benefits;
  • Broad and deep  knowledge  about  the  legal  employment  conditions  and  Bayer’s   policies  and requirements;
  • Experience with positive employee relations philosophy and methodology;
  • Complete set of HR competencies: labor law, compensation & benefits, people development and talent acquisition;
  • Able to be a role model for the Bayer LIFE Values, Leadership, Integrity, Flexibility and Efficiency;
  • Strong communication and messaging skills with the ability to build long term partnerships with clients (employees and managers) in the IT function;
  • Results oriented HR Professional with strong business acumen;
  • Ability to take a strong stand with management if necessary.

 

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Masters or MBA
