Penn State's Department of Labor Studies and Employment Relations engages in teaching, research, and outreach on all aspects of work and the employment relationship. Our students go on to careers in human resource management, labor relations, union organizing and representation, employment law, and government.
Courses in LSER address all aspects of the dynamic field of human resources and employment relations, including:
- globalization
- new work and family pressures
- the changing role of unions
- growing workforce diversity
- new methods of resolving conflicts
The Department offers a range of options for study,
including traditional undergraduate and graduate programs, conferences for professionals, and online learning courses. The Department will begin offering a fully online Masters of Professional Studies in Human Resources and Employment Relations for professionals in the field beginning May 2008.
