In addition to a B.A. and a B.S. in Labor and Employment Relations (LER), the Department of Labor Studies and Employment Relations offers a Minor in LER to students majoring in other Departments.
The LER Minor provides students a broad background to the issues of work, employment, and the employment relationship. Because college graduates will either enter the workforce as employees, employers, or managers of employees, a minor in LER has relevance to virtually any major offered at Penn State. It is a particularly useful addition to the courses of study undertaken by management, psychology, economics, sociology, geography, health policy and administration, turfgrass, IST, journalism, and the various engineering, architecture, and education majors.
The minor requirements include 18 credits; 9-12 of these credits must be in LER; 6-9 credits can be in designated courses in other social sciences (for more information on the requirements for the minor see the checklist. Six of the 18 credits must be at the 400 level.
For more information or to sign up for the minor, please see Maureen Mulenga during office hours in Room 134 Willard Bldg. To schedule an appointment on-line, click here.
