The purpose of this award is to honor and recognize outstanding achievement by an undergraduate student enrolled in Labor Studies and Industrial Relations; and to recognize a union member from Lehigh County enrolled in a Penn State on-site program or course offered in Lehigh County.

All undergraduate students enrolled or planning to enroll in the Labor Studies and Industrial major of the College of the Liberal Arts who have exhibited exemplary academic achievement shall be considered. First preference shall be given to students from Lehigh County, of the state of Pennsylvania.

Recipients of this award shall be selected by a committee chosen by the head of the Labor Studies and Industrial Relations Department. Each award shall be made for one academic year. Further extraordinary accomplishments by a recipient may enable that recipient to be again considered for this award.
