Sumita Raghuram received her Ph.D. from the University of Minnesota. She is Associate Professor of Human Resource Management in the Department of Labor Studies and Employment Relations at Penn State.

Sumita Raghuram received her Ph.D. from the University of Minnesota. She was a faculty member in the business school at Fordham University, New York from 1993-2005. Her research interests focus on virtual organizations and international human resource management. Her international HR research has been published as book chapters and in Internal Journal of Human Resource Management. In her research on virtual work she examines outcomes such as productivity, organizational commitment and identity. This research has been published in journals such as Journal of Management and Organization Science. Dr. Raghuram is currently engaged in two research projects. One examines the impact of human resource practices on globally dispersed virtual organizations. The other project examines the impact of call center work on the identification of call agents. She occasionally provides HR consulting to IT companies in India. Dr. Raghuram is also the area editor for OB/HRM in the Journal of Asia Business Studies.
