This award is given to honor and recognize outstanding achievement by a first-year graduate student in the Department of Labor Studies and Industrial Relations in the College of the Liberal Arts who has demonstrated excellence in his or her area of study. All graduate students in their first year of study in the Department of Labor Studies and Industrial Relations shall be considered for the award. There is one award granted each year, the amount of which shall be determined by the Associate Dean, Research and Graduate Studies in the College of the Liberal Arts in consultation with the Head of the Department of Labor Studies and Industrial Relations.
